چکیده
Parthenium weed ( hysterophorus L.) (Asteraceae; Heliantheae) is an invasive allergenic species that has invaded many countries worldwide, probably through imported pasture, grain seeds, and livestock feed. In recent years, there been increasing concern about the spread of P. in agricultural non-agricultural habitats across Israel. addition, as a quarantine plant; any contaminated produce exported will be rejected by European market. The current study aims to document distribution invasiveness status Moreover, we aimed life cycle biology . this research, detected invasion reports new areas Jezreel valley, Jordan Mediterranean coastal plain. Studying weed, found optimal temperatures for seed germination are between 15 25°C. We observed seeds able emerge from depth 0–3 cm only. thrives under high light intensities. Our results show induced shading 60 90%, significant reduction biomass, height, number flowers per plant were observed. phenology crucial step path develop integrated management program reduce further negative impacts

The Invasive American Weed Parthenium hysterophorus Can Negatively Impact Malaria Control in Africa
The direct negative effects of invasive plant species on agriculture and biodiversity are well known, but their indirect effects on human health, and particularly their interactions with disease-transmitting vectors, remains poorly explored. This study sought to investigate the impact of the invasive Neotropical weed Parthenium hysterophorus and its toxins on the survival and energy reserves of...
متن کاملGenetic Structure of Invasive Weed Parthenium hysterophorus in Australia and Pakistan
Understanding the patterns of genetic structure in the introduced range of invasive species can help elucidate invasion histories and levels of gene flow among populations. Parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus L.; PW) is native to the Gulf of Mexico and central South America but has become globally invasive during the last three decades and little is known about the genetics of this specie...
متن کاملThe Combined Effect of Biological Control with Plant Competition on the Management of Parthenium Weed (parthenium Hysterophorus L.)
Parthenium hysterophorus L., (Asteraceae) commonly known as parthenium weed, is a highly invasive plant that has become a problematic weed of pasture lands in Australia and many other countries around the world. For the management of this weed, an integrated approach comprising biological control and plant competition strategies was tested in southern central Queensland. Two competitive pasture...

A population of Parthenium hysterophorus collected in Salta Argentina afforded two ambrosanolides, 2beta-hydroxycoronopilin and 1alpha,2beta,4beta-trihydroxypseudoguaian-6beta,12-olide, as well as five known others. Plants of the fructification from those transplanted from the Puna Argentina at 1200 m over the sea level produced hymenin.
متن کاملEcological Impacts of Weed (Parthenium hysterophorus L.) Invasion in Saline Soil
Parthenium density and species richness were found to be more in non-invaded (N-I) sites as compared to invaded (I) sites of Jaunpur district. pH, OC and %N of the soil indicates that the plant survive naturally at higher level of salinity. In pot experiment, plant growth, proline content, TSS content, chlorophyll, N, P and K was not significantly affected up to 1% NaCl (w/w) over the control a...
